60 degree pitch with top molding & trim on the gable edge. Shingles fit just below ridge trim. |
 |
The front & back roof sections lock in near the eaves (see next drawing) then close together at the peak - a 3/16" dowel holds the roof in place. |
 |
Roof tongue inserted into wall - slipped under pin (white dot.) |
 |
Showing 4 different angles - can create any angle up to 60 degrees. Not used for flat or shed type roof.
Light & dark tan pieces in foreground:
- 5/8" dowel - cut centered 1/4" groove
- Glue 1/4" x 1/4" strip wood into groove
- Cross-cut dowel/strip wood assembly into 1-1/2 to 2" pieces
- Drill 3/16" hole thru center of each dowel/strip wood asb.
Then each of theses dowel/strip wood asbs. are glued to the roof framing & rafters. Assemble at desired angle - insert 3/16" dowel (cyan) to lock front (orange) & back (yellow) halves of roof together.
